Astoria Italian - To Go and Delivery, NY
Who doesn't love Italian food? With an emphasis on fish, herbs and veggies together with one of a kind Mediterranean flair, the regional cuisine of Italy has something for everyone.
Astoria is lucky enough to be home to some of the best Italian restaurants in all of NYC.
You may not be able to sit down and enjoy a relaxed meal in their dining room, but, thanks to take-out and delivery, you can still have an authentic Italian feast in the comfort of your apartment.
Botte Bar - Astoria
One of the sexiest after-work spots in the neighborhood, Botte Bar blends the vibe of a Roman Enoteca ( wine bar), with a hip tapas bar.
The team behind Botte is made up of owners Valerio and Francesco along with chef Antonio Costa. Your satisfaction is their number one priority.
As you would expect, the list of imported Italian wines is absolutely first-rate. Chef Antonio specializes in Cicchetti, which is the Italian version of tapas or small plates.
Botte more than makes up in atmosphere what it lacks in size. The centerpiece here is a cute, trendy bar. Once things get back to normal, you will be able to sit a spell, enjoy a leisurely cocktail or glass of wine and chat up your neighbor at the next stool.
And, there is always great music playing in the background. No doubt, Valerio and Francesco could have been successful DJ's if they hadn't been seduced by the restaurant business.
Chef Antonio's small plates are both creative and delicious. Among the items you can choose from are fried Zucchini in a lemon and mint sauce, eggplant rolls that are stuffed with chives and goat cheese, as well as octopus in a lemon citronette that is served over toasted Tuscan bread.
The owners have put together a very special rake-out and delivery menu; one that will help you get through these difficult times. At least, as far as satisfying your appetite is concerned.
Among the menu options being offered are Penne shrimp or chicken Alfredo, chicken Milanese with salad and french fries and classic chicken parm with pasta.
You can order according to the portion size that you desire. For one, the price is $15; for two people, the charge is $25 and for four hungry diners, the price would be $45.
Botte also has bar bites and wine to-go option. A plate of Burrata and Prosciutto comes in at $15 while a plate of meatballs costs only $9.
Right now, Botte has a deal whereby you will receive 40% off ALL bottles of wine for take-out. And, if you spend fifty dollars or more, they will throw in a bottle of house wine for a mere $10.

Ornella - Astoria
This cute and cozy trattoria has become a destination dining spot for foodies from all over the city, not just Astoria.
In addition to impeccable service and a charming atmosphere that blends old-world Italian with a hip contemporary aesthetic, Ornella features a mouth-watering menu that will keep you coming back for more.
The wizard in the kitchen is none other than chef Giuseppe Viterale.
Chef Giuseppe puts his own spin on the "culinary heirlooms, (dishes) that were handed down to him by his mom and grandmother.
As far as the Viterale family is concerned, the kitchen table is the place where it all happens. That is the gathering place for friends and family to be together and enjoy a good meal.
They want to bring that experience to your family when visiting Ornella.
You can order online for either pick-up or delivery. Just log onto www.ornellatogo.com /order.
Many of the meats and veggies that are served at Ornella come from the family farm which is located upstate in the Catskill Mountains. Now, THAT really is farm to table.
The restaurant is celebrated for its Pasta Thursdays which offer bowls of different pasta and sauce for only $10.
Chef Giuseppe's menu is one of the most interesting and diverse that you'll come across.
Yes, they do offer spaghetti and meatballs. But they also have out of the ordinary creations like fusilli with pistachios, Pasta Di Ceci, which is chickpea flour pasta in garlic and oil, topped with artichokes and black olives.
You might also enjoy the chef's signature delight, Penne Integrali. This dish consists of whole wheat pasta with fresh, juicy tomatoes, leafy spinach, creamy mozzarella and extra virgin olive oil.
Not feeling pasta on this particular evening? Then dig into the Pollo Scarpariello. Succulent chunks of chicken and sausage are blended together in a light and flavorful sauce of Rosemary, peppers, vinegar and white wine.
If you are looking for something light and healthy and tastes great, then order the chef's, Salmone Primavera. A generous slice of salmon is topped with a bevy of veggies and a touch of Dijon mustard.

Nino's AQ - Astoria
A relative newcomer to the Ditmars' foodie scene, Nino's AQ has, nonetheless, made
quite an impact on the palates of local residents.
Family owned and operated by chef Franco Vendome and his brother Michael, who curates the superb wine list, Nino's AQ is all about Italian comfort food with an inventive
twist. Anyone in the mood for sweet potato gnocchi?
Many of their pasta dishes as well as select pizzas are even gluten-free. How cool is that?
As are most restaurants throughout the city, Nino's is doing only take-out and delivery for the time being.
You'll find their new, compact menu on Grub Hub. The delivery and to-go menus feature a selection of the restaurant's most popular dishes. You are sure to find something that will tantalize your taste buds.
One of the more outstanding dishes is the hearty and satisfying Drunken Parm Hero. This sandwich to end them all consists of a fork-tender chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, a sprinkling of basil and a nice dollop of vodka sauce.
When vodka, cream and tomato sauce meets warm, crusty Italian bread; well, that's good as it gets.
The deep-fried meatballs are a succulent blend of pork, beef and veal. Your order comes with a generous helping of San Marzano tomatoes.
Currently, Nino's AQ is offering around half-a-dozen pizza options. A couple of pies that you will want to keep in mind are the Truffled Prosciutto Pie and The Vegan, which is made with fresh not too sweet tomato sauce, wild mushrooms, garlic and a mound of Italian kale.
Now, more than ever, we can all agree that a well-mixed cocktail can do wonders to change your mood and chase the blues away. But, all the bars are closed!
Well, that's no problem if you are doing take-out or delivery with Nino's AQ.
They are offering pre-batched mixed cocktails. Just pour over ice and enjoy; provided that you are OVER 21 years of age.
Refreshing selections include their house sangria made with seasonal fruit, Cocchi la Rosa and imported Italian Rose' and the Bloody Mario, which is a get you going blend of tomato juice, basil, vodka and Calabrian chili.
They've also got a new drink called the To-Goni" which is a Negroni to go. You'll be glad that you have a batch of this elixir in your fridge.
With most of us working from home or temporarily unemployed, there has never been a better time to experiment in the kitchen and bring out our inner Master Chef.
Nino's AQ has got you covered with products from their Italian Market.
Pick-up or order for delivery tasty stuff like a 32-ounce jar of their home-made tomato, vodka, or Bolognese sauce.
Pasta-to-go options include gluten-free gnocchi, black squid ink spaghetti and Mafaldine.
Nino's Italian Market also has containers of ricotta with EVOO and sea salt as well as hot or mild Giardiniera ( pickled veggies).

Trattoria L'incontro - Astoria
Unlike many celebrity chefs who spend more time lining up TV appearances than cooking in their restaurants, you will always find Rocco Sacramone completely at home inside of his gleaming, clean-as-can-be kitchen at Trattoria L'incontro.
Besides serving one of the most delicious menus in the city, Trattoria L'incontro has an ambiance that is second to none. It is the perfect place for a date, a business luncheon, or a family dinner.
The crown jewel of the spacious dining room is a magnificent open brick oven. The walls are adorned by hand-painted murals, done by a local artist, which reflect images of chef Rocco's hometown of Orsonga, which is in the rugged Abruzzo region of Italy.
Right now, with the Coronavirus emergency, there is, of course, no sit-down dining. But, hopefully, it will be only a matter of time until we can all break bread together again.
The good news, though, is that in the meantime, you can STILL taste chef Sacramone's excellent dishes by getting his food delivered to your cozy apartment.
Trattoria L'incontro is now available on GRUB HUB, so work on that appetite and get ready to enjoy something very special, indeed.
Currently, the chef and his team are offering different daily specials instead of the full menu.
You can order by the half or full tray. This arrangement works for everyone. If you're a family with kids, eliminate the stress of cooking dinner and treat yourself, for once!
Order a full tray and feast alongside your roommates. Couples can get dinner and the next day's lunch out of a tray, for sure.
Each day brings a different selection of dishes together with standards like Chicken Parm over a king-size bed of rigatoni with house-made tomato sauce, just like Nonna used to whip up on Sunday.
You can look forward to ordering delights like pasta of the day with mussels, lasagna, calamari and shrimp in vodka sauce, Icelandic cod in a buttery lemon sauce as well as juicy, succulent chicken thighs topped with mushrooms and onions.
This is really something that will brighten your day.
Brighten your day with a tray of food that has been cooked with all of the heart and soul that chef Rocco Sacramone is known for.
