ECOLOGY SOAP

- A new style of clean.

Dedicated to bringing you the cleanest, most natural soaps, skin care products, and laundry solutions on earth; Ecology Soap is turning the marketplace upside down while re-defining just what it means to be "green".

Founded by the charming and resourceful Louise Michaud, Ecology Soap is a brand that is not afraid to make waves.

This ground-breaking company is all about giving their customers a viable alternative to the overly processed, synthetic name brand soaps and laundry detergents that line the city's supermarket and pharmacy shelves.

Ecology Soap offers an exciting line-up of biodynamic, plant-based products that you can feel good about using.

There's absolutely no need to second guess your choice when it comes to this bright, refreshing brand.

Quite happy teaching her students the classics at an NYC based university; Louise had, nonetheless, always been intrigued with the idea of being an entrepreneur.

But if ever her dream were to come to fruition, the product would have to be something that she felt passionate about. Louise certainly doesn't believe in doing things half-way.

The birth of Ecology Soap happened by chance, one day, while Louise was chilling out and going through various social media posts. Louise came across one article in particular that caught her eye. It dealt with the toxicity found in laundry products such as dryer sheets.

Louise was shocked to discover that many of the ingredients that are used to make soaps and other laundry products are NOT listed on the packaging. And that's not a careless oversight, either, on the part of the manufacturer.

Some of these ingredients are downright scary like benzyl acetate, which has been linked to certain cancers; benzyl alcohol, an upper respiratory irritant and chloroform.

Upset, (to say the least), about this total lack of transparency, Louise kick-started her research into the field. What Louise was confronted with opened her eyes even further.

She found that many of the cleaning as well as bath and body products out there, that are labeled "natural" and "green", also contain their fair share of synthetic fragrances, dyes and colorants.

The Ah-Ha! moment was at hand. Louise thought "I can do better than this !", setting forth on a momentous and rewarding journey that has no end in sight.

The result is a product that you'll be proud to have in your kitchen or bathroom.

And, of course, let's not leave out the envious looks you'll receive at the laundromat down the street. when you place Louise's 100% organic Himalayan soap nuts in the washer or her natural and hypoallergenic New Zealand wool balls into the dryer.

Marching to the beat of a different drummer, Louise set forth to provide transparency in labeling to her customers while also sourcing the cleanest ingredients possible.

Whether you are taking a shower or washing your hands with a bar of Louise's delightful soap, you can rest assured that the product you're using meets the highest ethical standards and is the most vibrant shade of green possible.

All of the brand's products are proudly free from sulfates, parabens, formaldehyde and GMOs.

If that wasn't enough; Ecology Soap is Leaping Bunny certified as being cruelty-free to animals. The company is also a member of the Rainforest Alliance for palm oil sustainability as well as being a member in good standing of the Green Business Bureau.

Louise's devotion to taking care of the environment extends to every facet of her business.

Most of the packaging for the brand's products consists of recyclable materials.

In fact, Louise's business cards have been crafted from recycled t-shirts, of all things and she has just started using a green printer that utilizes soy-based ink for product labeling.

Made in small batches, Louise's bar soaps shine brightly with beautiful natural colors. They are crafted with botanicals as well as organic herbs and essential oils.

When you shop online at Louise's Soap Bar: Vegan Collection, you will find a plethora of aromatic, fresh choices including pumpkin spice, prairie sage and wildflower, oatmeal spice, lilac breeze, an intoxicating pink grapefruit and marigold option, and one of her most popular items, the mango tango body bar.

Each bar is designed so beautifully, you'll look upon them as small pieces of art, providing a pop of color on your sink.

However, the one item that you WON'T find is liquid soaps. And, there's a very good reason for that.

Ecology Soap wants to make sure that their carbon footprint is as earth-friendly as possible.

Did you know that liquid soaps use up to five times more energy for raw material production and twenty times more when it comes to packaging, than do bar soaps?

In any event, your shelves don't need all of those plastic bottles and clutter.

An avid traveler who loves to learn about new cultures, Louise is in the early stages of planning an International line of artisan soaps.

These soaps will feature scents and ingredients from the South of France, Turkey and the Greek Islands. Each signature soap will be created in close collaboration with local makers.

The Covid-19 crisis may have caused a slight delay in the International soap artisan's launch; but rest assured, the enterprising founder of Ecology Soap will most definitely get it done.

Aside from her fabulous soaps and laundry products, Louise also offers a carefully curated collection of accessories and personal care items that are sure to pique your interest. Everything that's on offer here is designed to complement your natural lifestyle.

The Spa Stop features items like compostable bamboo toothbrushes, acacia wood soap dishes, an eco-friendly natural air freshener car clip as well as 100% organic cotton peshtemal Turkish kitchen towels.

The newest item that is available at the Spa Stop is a collection of fair trade, ethically sourced face masks.

Make a fashion statement while helping to keep yourself safe. Each mask is made from washable Kitenge cotton fabric. Long ties enable the wearer to adjust the mask for maximum comfort.

Eye-catching patterns include Gold Medallion, Blue Batik, Green Goddess and Purple Sunrise.

Every mask is crafted by the Swahili Coast Cooperative, which is comprised of artisans from Kenya and Tanzania.

The craft-makers all have an ownership stake in the cooperative and share in the profits.

Moreover, Ecology Soap is donating one mask for every one sold, to the local community. By purchasing these masks you are really making a difference. So, why not buy several at a time, for friends and family?

Nowadays, more than ever before, we are looking at what the term "self-care" means to us as individuals.

Perhaps we tended to take our good health for granted and only THOUGHT that we were doing enough to take care of ourselves both physically and emotionally.

As both a person and an entrepreneur, Louise Michaud is forever striving to find a work-life balance that feels right.

And, as with most busy people, it can be a work in progress. But, it's good to remember that part of the joy is in the journey, not just the end result.

When she's not busy running her company, Louise loves to spend time with friends and relations, getting in some exercise and , hopefully soon, watching her favorite sport, Baseball!

Louise strongly feels that proper self-care can also mean controlling what you expose yourself to in your environment, day in and day out. It's the little things that count.

Being an informed consumer helps you make better choices. It's as simple as that.

Something as simple as a bar of soap can change your life in so many ways.

But, perhaps, the American literary icon MARK TWAIN said it best when describing the nation's fascination with the pleasing effects of that cleaning miracle known as soap...

"I wonder how much it would take to buy a soap bubble if there were only one in the world ?"
