Located in Astoria, Halsey's Tavern serves laid-back drinks for laid-back folks with a focus on craft beer and food.
Check out the fun and friendly vibe at Halsey's Tavern in Astoria. Whether you're hungry or thirsty, this is the place to be. The focus here is on craft beer, spirits and food. The cocktails and craft beers, many of them local, as well as the delicious dishes, all have their very own distinct personality. Halsey's fancy fries are a case in point. These cooked just right french fries are tossed with a truffle-infused olive oil, together with parsley and parmesan cheese.
The Chef at Halsey's has no less than three varieties of Mac N' Cheese on the menu including the highly intoxicating Beer and Bacon Mac; combining your two favorite food groups with cheddar and Parmesan cheese. You've no doubt enjoyed Buffalo chicken wings, a time or two during Happy Hour at other fine establishments in Astoria and Manhattan. But you have to come to Halsey's in order to delight in the one-of-a-kind taste that is their Buffalo Chicken Gnocchi. Your plate is filled with fresh potato gnocchi, perfectly grilled chicken, a nicely done chipotle cream sauce and it's all topped with blue cheese.
The Halsey's Burger is something very special, indeed. Your juicy and flavorful 8oz. burger is topped with Irish swiss cheese, horseradish sauce and a jam made up of Jameson whiskey, bacon and caramelized onions. The bar has over twenty beers on tap with another thirty bottled selections. There is also a full line of Bourbon, Rye, Whiskey and Scotch available. Cocktails include the Halsey's Hop, a drink replete with generous splashes of bourbon, fresh squeezed lemon juice and Single-Cut Brewery's Billy Watt half-stack. Single-Cut, by the way is an Astoria based brewery.
Halsey's gets a laid back crowd and is a great place to unwind and make some new friends. In the time that it has been open, Halsey's has become something of a neighborhood gathering place, where locals can mix and mingle. Families have discovered Halsey's for Saturday brunch. Tucked away on a side street, just off of 31st avenue, Halsey's is only a couple of blocks from the Broadway and 31st Street N and Q station. Even if you don't live in the neighborhood, Halsey's is worth making the trip and then some.
