The family that owns Cafe Ole in Astoria, NY, has more then thirty years experience in the restaurant industry and it shows in everything that they do.

The cuisine and service are just what you are looking for when you want to treat yourself to a special night out. The dining room is decorated in various colors, which accentuates the lively ambiance, without overdoing it. There is a true, authentic feel to the place. You very well could be dining in Madrid. One thing is for certain. During the time that you are inside Café Ole you'll forget that you are in Astoria. One glass of Sangria, along with some grilled Octopus will transport you to a more leisurely, fun way to live, if only for a couple of hours. The kitchen offers an abundance of fish dishes. You can order red snapper, salmon or filet of sole, for example, several different and delicious ways. Simply grilled or with your choice of green, garlic or caper sauce. All fish selections come with saffron rice and vegetable of the day.

When you dine here, you must try their version of caldo gallego, an out-of-this-world, traditional Spanish soup, which consists of collard greens, white beans, potatoes and chorizo. Beef is also on the menu at Café Ole. Try the prime filet, mignon, Café Ole' style. Your filet is sautéed with fresh mushrooms, garlic and white wine. If you're a steak lover, then their grilled steak served with sautéed sweet red peppers and onions is definitely up your alley.

The kitchen, however, takes great pride in the various and mouth watering ways that they prepare veal. In most restaurants veal takes a back seat to the more popular meat selections. But it shouldn't. Veal has a lot going for it. It's a more healthy choice of meat and it is tender and succulent, if cooked properly. And, boy, do they know what to do with a piece of veal here at Café Ole. Their stuffed veal (with muenster and mozzarella cheese) is fantastic as is the veal Sevillana, prepared with sweet peppers, mushrooms, white wine and string beans.

You may also order your veal done Marsala or Francaise style. So, as you can see, there are no shortage of options here. Accompany your lunch or dinner with a glass of wine or one of the bars excellent mojitos.  Food tastes that much better when it is paired up with convivial conversation, good friends and a cozy, intimate atmosphere.

You will get all that and more at Cafe Ole!Fine Spanish cuisine and best sangria in town!

Café Ole has the best seafood dishes in all of Astoria/LIC. The prices could be better but the food is so good I eat there anyway. The red sangria is great too and not too sweet. This is a place that makes you feel like you are dining in Europe and not Astoria. Even the bar scene has its own vibe, especially on weekends.
