You could say that the recently opened Bareburger, located on Vernon Blvd. in Long Island City, is the new cub on the block.

Bareburger stands out, amidst a sea of competition from Center Blvd. to Jackson Avenue and all along Vernon. Residents of this trendy neighborhood have been waiting a long time to enjoy the natural and organic meats and produce that foodies all over Astoria and Manhattan have been raving about for years.

When they opened the LIC location, everybody, from the proud owners and chefs to the wait staff and hostess were "all in". And so were the interior designers. The LIC location has its own identity and look. The outside appears to be the same as most of the other Bareburger restaurants that we are so familiar with. But that's where the comparison stops.

Bareburger LIC resembles a casual but chic restaurant, something that you would find in Tribeca or Chelsea. Most of the  spacious room is taken up with large and comfortable banquette seating. The look is very cool and you can really sink in a lounge, while you enjoy one of their terrific organic, antibiotic-free burgers. Even the lighting is different. You might think that you've wandered into a hip and happening lounge by accident. But no club or lounge in the city has food this good.

The menu is similar to most of the other locations, but also offer a couple of nice LIC-centric options that will absolutely delight your palate. The "Be my Burger"  special menu offers you a lot of choices. First off, choose your patty (beef, bison, elk, duck, turkey, wild boar, lemon chicken, farmer's quinoa or sweet potato blended with wild rice).  Bun selections include: brioche, sprout, tapioca rice bun or get your patty wrapped in collard greens. Next up, choose your cheese, Amish blue, gouda, pimento, Manchego, Colby or cheddar. Want bacon? Options include brisket, duck or country bacon. Veggie toppings are far too numerous to list all of them here, but some of the more interesting temptations are pickled green tomatoes, pickled jalapenos, wild mushrooms and dill pickles.

Last but not least, choose your sauce or spread. Forget the standard ketchup, mayo and mustard. This is Bareburger LIC after all! Be adventurous and savor the paprika mayo, curry-ginger ketchup, buttermilk-ranch sauce, the tomato fig jam spread or the pineapple relish. Bareburger LIC is, without any doubt, custom-made hamburger heaven.

Make a night of your dinner at Bareburger LIC. This neighborhood is full of entertainment options including some of the best comedy clubs in the city. When you do lunch at Bareburger, spend the rest of the afternoon admiring the view of the city over at Center Blvd's beautiful Gantry state Park.
