The artisan butchers and chefs at Butcher Bar have been doing the smokehouse meat thing for several years now, and they have got it down to a science.

We all have fond memories of the original, smaller Butcher Bar, which is next door to the new location. That's where we first learned just how succulent and tasty slow smoked beef brisket, pulled pork and fresh, juicy slices of turkey could be. And let's not get started about Butcher Bar's meat candy. We could talk for hours about their scrumptious double-smoked brisket burnt ends. No matter how hard you try, even the best home cook could not duplicate the flavor and texture  that the chef gives the meat.

As fondly as we remember the first Butcher Bar, it's time to make some new memories at their spacious and infinitely more welcoming location. It is better in every way! There are a ton of tables that are well-spaced around the large room. So, you can now spend more time eating rather than waiting to be seated. And, they have added a super sexy, eye-catching bar to the proceedings, where you can have your favorite drink made to order. Happy Hour now consists of well prepared food and a cocktail, or a glass of beer and wine.

The ambiance here is very social and warm. Relax, unwind from your hectic day and stay awhile. Invite a bunch of your friends to meet you at Butcher Bar for after work drinks and a few of the kitchen's very creative appetizers and side dishes. You can be a vegetarian and get a perfectly good meal here. Choose a couple of sides like mashed potatoes, their signature creamy mac and cheese, sweet potato wedges, sautéed string beans, house slaw and pickles or made from scratch potato salad. You can even include a side salad with the very popular vegetarian platter.

The Butcher's salad consists of  mixed greens, walnuts, cranberries, apple slices and blue cheese. Their salads are a great compliment to the meaty and mighty sandwiches and plates. The signature  Butcher's platter gives you  a choice of three meats from  their carvery. Savory selections include pulled pork or chicken, sausage, marinated chicken breast, pork belly, roasted turkey or brisket. You get a couple of sides, as well. Sandwich options include the very tasty turkey burger, sausage and peppers, the mopped and chopped brisket sandwich, a grilled breast of chicken option and Bob's burger, a half pound burger with brisket, smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato.

Like ribs? Then you've come to the right place. Butcher's expert rib masters offer a half rack of St. Louis style dry rubbed ribs or well sauced. It's your choice. For those who are ravenous, full racks are available. All rib dishes are served with house slaw, pickle, corn cakes and a side dish.

For years, Butcher bar has been famous for their glass refrigerator display case that showcases the various cuts of meat that they cook, smoke and sell. The whole set up is very reminiscent of an old fashioned Butcher shop, as is the quality of the meat being served.
