Who says that you can't learn and have fun at the same time? Certainly not Olta and Bora, two passionate and talented sisters who have recently opened Okabaloo, a beautifully designed place of wonders, creativity and celebrations.

When you enter the premises, you will feel as though you've been transported into the world of children's book author, Dr. Seuss and the Cat In The Hat. The rainbow of colors and caricatures of animals, blue skies and whimsical objects literally pop off the walls.

One of the most beloved quotes from Dr.Seuss goes something like this..."The more that you read, the more things that you'll know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go."

Those words sum up the philosophy behind Okabaloo. Olta and Bora were raised in a family of artists and independent thinkers.

A professional artist whose focus is on visual and decorative arts, Olta has a wealth of experience in teaching arts and crafts as well as planning exhibitions, festivities and art fairs.

Her sister, Bora started studying music and playing the violin when she was only five years old. As a singer and musician, Bora enjoyed a successful career in Europe where she toured with a well-known pop band. A talented songwriter, Bora loves to explore various musical genres.

Kids love taking classes with Bora, whether they have professional aspirations, one day, or simply enjoy singing or playing an instrument as a hobby.

As young mothers, Olta and Bora both enjoy introducing their own children to the arts. They feel that the diverse and culturally rich neighborhood of Astoria and Long Island City is the perfect setting for Okabaloo.
