PERMANENTLY CLOSED. The Candy Bar is open on Ditmars Blvd. near 21st Street and it brings an open door to happy children and adults who like candy, toys, ice cream, birthday parties, gifts, gift baskets, and just plain having fun.

The Candy Bar is one of the most fun places you can visit in Long Island City or Astoria. It's just off the northeastern corner of Astoria Park and is crammed full of the most interesting nostalgia candy, toys, gifts, and balloons that you'll find anywhere.

This is one of those special places that is hard to find; but worth the trip. It is also a terrific place for a child's birthday party, or other celebration. The staff really knows how to do it right, with elaborate decorations and costumes to fit the occasion.

Even as a tourist visiting NYC, if you want to experience some of the most interesting history of popular candy in the United States from the 1950's through today, this is a great spot to visit and pick up some treats to take home to your friends.

Another fun thing would be to order a gift basket for a friend with a sweet tooth... just as a surprise.
