When it comes to creating a superior Dining experience, Darren and Melanie lawless know precisely what it takes. Darren worked as a chef at celebrated Manhattan restaurants Oceana and Lavagna. Melanie managed various establishments for the Smith & Wollensky group. Besides great food and a boutique menu of fine wines and beers, the Lawless family wanted a restaurant where everyone could feel at home. The service is on-point and professional and Chef Darren is adamant that his staff familiarize themselves with each dishe's ingredients. Il Bambino cares deeply about the source of the food you eat. They are working with the respected Murray's Cheese shop to bring you artisanal cheeses from the U.S. and around the world. From Vermont's Cabot cheddar to Irish Cashel blue to Pecorino pepato and aged Parmesan from Italy, you'll savor some seriously good cheeses to go along with your beer or wine selection.

There Insalata, tapas and panini menu selections invite you to try something truly different. You cannot go wrong with Italian meatloaf or mortadella and roast chicken Panini's. For vegetarians, you will delight in the artichoke with olive spread sandwich, or the fried eggplant with roast mushroom and goat cheese Panini. If you love old-fashioned Egg salad, try Bambino's crostini with smoked bacon and spicy mayo. You'll want seconds for sure. Even their spreads and aioli are divine here. Choices include truffle, basil pesto, fig butter, apricot butter, cracked pepper and sun-dried tomato.

Unique to Astoria, Il Bambino's menu would not be easily replicated even in Manhattan.
