Socarrat Paella Bar - Spanish Restaurant, NY

Socarrat Paella Bar East · Paella Bar Chelsea · Paella Bar Nolita, NY. Paella speaks to all appetites and tastes.

Spain's national dish is a feast of flavors and colors, and when it arrives at your table you know you're in for a treat. As we know it today, paella originated in Valencia, on Spain's east coast back in the 19th century. Paella is an important part of the social aspect of eating with friends and family in Spanish households. Socarrat is that delicious crust that forms at the bottom of the paella pan from the rice and liquid blending together. The Socarrat family of restaurants are the fruits of Jesus "LoLo" Manso's labors. Jesus's philosophy can be summed up in a few simple but meaningful words, "I am passionate about food. To me eating is like a ritual, an expression of one's soul."

Socarrat Paella Bar - Spanish Restaurant, NY

A native of Valladolid in the heart of Spain, Jesus arrived in New York in 1984 and loved the energy and the opportunities he found in the Big Apple. "LoLo" Manso decided that he would open his own place and re-create the warmth and flavors of home, for both Spanish expatriates and native New Yorkers alike. The Socarrat family of restaurants includes: Paella Bar East, Paella Bars Chelsea and Nolita, La Nacional and La Churreria. Each one of LoLo's restaurants has a long communal table where you can relish tapas and paella as well as superb Spanish wines. You can choose from several delectable paellas to satisfy your hunger. The Cordero's ingredients are as unconventional as they are tasty: lamb, short ribs, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and broccoli.

The Socarrat house paella is a masterpiece in a single cooking pan. So is the Langosta paella. A feast of tender chunks of lobster, accompanied by calamari, shrimp and scallops. Want to spice things up? Go for the Fideua de Pato with duck confit, spicy sausage, piquillo peppers and mushroom sofrito. Brunch is always a special occasion at Socarrat. Try one of LoLo's favorites: the Huevos a la Flamenca and the Huevos Rotos-Socarrat style. Brunch Bebidas include sangria, mimosa or Tinto de Verano. A fantastic selection of tapas is available for brunch, lunch or dinner. Jesus "LoLo" Manso and Socarrat mean business when it comes to pleasing their customers.
