Uncle Steve's Italian Organic Sauces

Actor Steve Schirripas, Uncle Steve's pasta sauces and Italian Specialties. Come join the family!

If you were lucky enough to grow up in the Italian American family, Sunday dinner was an event that you look forward to all week. Just ask former Sopranos actor, Brooklyn-born Steve Schirripa. Steve fondly recalls waking up to the unmistakable scent of tomato sauce wafting through the house on Sunday morning.

No matter what the dish, tomato sauce was the one ingredient that tied everything together. Steve may be an actor by trade, but he's also a chef at heart and feels that Sunday sauce on just about anything is the ultimate comfort food. Uncle Steve's line of pasta sauce honors his mothers time tested recipe, but with an improvement here and there. When you open a jar of uncle Steve's sauce pour it in a pot and let it simmer, the smell of fresh tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, vegetables and spices will take you back to those Sunday dinners.

The sauces are made in small batches. Nothing is mass-produced. Steve's Marinara sauce uses organic imported whole peeled tomatoes and is USDA certified organic. It is also kosher certified, non-GMO, gluten-free and with no added sugar. The same could be said for uncle Steve's luscious Tomato Basil and Arrabbiata sauces. They are also organic and gluten-free with a touch of sea salt added. Simply hard to believe that these sauces come out of a jar. A true Renaissance man, Steve is also a best selling author. His satirical book, A Goomba's Guide to Life, made it into the very prestigious New York Times book list. The popular demand was so great that Steve was asked to write several follow-up books including, The Goomba Diet.

Steve was the star and executive producer of Nickelodeon's Nicky Deuce, Home for the holidays movie. From 2009 to 2013, Steve played a single dad of a teenage boy on the heat ABC family series, The Secret LIfe of the American Teenager. Uncle Steve's appetite for life and inner drive keeps the actor busy and happy 24/7. Right now the centerpiece of Steve's activities is uncle Steve's sauce. One of Steve's favorite things is doing cooking demos in various markets. His largest than life personality can even transform the pasta and sauce aisle at your local supermarket into a stage.

At these appearances, Steve will whip up recipes for savory dishes like eggplant Parm, Braciola, Mom's meatballs and baked ziti, using as the primary ingredient his delicious sauces. In the New York area you can purchase uncle Steve's sauces at Whole Foods, ShopRite and Stop & Shop. Dozens of fine independent retailers also carry Steve's products, such as Grace's Marketplace in Manhattan, Health Nuts located at 1208 2nd Ave. Manhattan, and Astoria's own, Vitality and Health Natural Foods and Vitamin store at 46-03 Broadway.

There are several nutritional information pages on the website and you can find out when Steve will be doing a Meet and Greet, at your local supermarket. Deluxe gift baskets are also available for birthday or holiday presents. When it comes to jar sauce, there's a lot of competition out there. But it's the Schirripa family recipe, attention to detail and emphasis on healthy ingredients that makes all the difference.
