At The Wagner, 2 West has, in a very short amount of time, built a reputation as being one of the best restaurants in the entire Battery Park and Financial District neighborhood.

Warm wood paneling and strategic splashes of color create a welcoming environment.

Secluded and private, The Alcove is situated just a few steps down from the main dining room. With large picture windows that overlook the greenery of Robert Wagner Park, The Alcove is the most sought-after space at 2 West.

Local couples and families who reside in the nearby luxury condos and rentals by the water have adopted 2 West as their new favorite brunch spot.

You can order Al la Carte or go with their three courses, appetizer, main course and dessert deal for $46. Eight dollars more gets you a delicious brunch cocktail.

Appetizers include premium offerings such as smoked salmon with a bagel and cream cheese and crab cakes.

Brunch entrees range from cornflake crusted Brioche French Toast with strawberries, traditional Eggs Benedict and Almond pancakes topped with caramelized bananas to a spicy Pepper Jack Burrito.

Your children (and the kid in you), will love sweet endings like the double fudge chocolate cake and the lemon meringue pie "in a jar" which is topped with hand-whipped fresh cream and toasted meringue.

The bar here at 2 West can compete with any bar in the city. The mixologists here are that talented.

For brunch, you've got to order the Bloody Mary. It's made with Tito's vodka and 2 West's secret recipe, spicy Bloody Mary mix.

The Pom Bellini, which is made with La Marca Prosecco, Pama Liqueur and Pomegranate juice is refreshing and addicting.

Everybody's using simple syrup in their drinks nowadays. But, when was the last time you heard of an apple and green grape syrup? This delightful syrup, along with Hendricks Gin, St. Germaine, cucumber juice and club soda are the ingredients of the delicious Spa Collins cocktail.

Not in the mood to consume alcohol today? Then try one of the bar's wonderful mocktails.

Coconut water is the refreshing base for the Rehydrator which also mixes agave and freshly squeezed pineapple juice into the equation.

Dinner has been a standout from day one at 2 West. With menu offerings like grilled Branzino with pan-fried potato gnocchi, Maine cod topped with Pancetta and lobster cavatelli, it's not hard to see why.

If you are feeling really famished, then consider ordering a side. The white cheddar mashed potatoes and jumbo asparagus topped with Hollandaise sauce are two of the most popular small plates here.

Welcome to The Wagner, a hotel where the incredible daytime energy of global finance and international media shifts effortlessly into a very cool nightlife and hospitality scene.

11 Howard - Lower Manhattan

The epitome of casual luxury,11 Howard has, in a very short amount of time, become a classic destination for both savvy travelers and local foodies who appreciate a great meal in elevated surroundings.

11 Howard's guiding principle is conscious hospitality. You, the guest, always comes first and foremost. But, in a very personal way that most other hotels cannot even begin to match.

Okay, that all sounds great. But, what exactly does conscious hospitality mean, anyway? Simply put, it means that everyone at 11 Howard approaches each aspect of the hotel, from design and location to amenities along with their ultramodern brand of service, with awareness, purpose and thoughtful consideration.

Conscious hospitality also includes the surrounding community. The management at 11 Howard has partnered with several different charities in an effort to give back to those who are less fortunate. When was the last time you heard of a hotel doing anything like that?

11 Howard is proud to collaborate with charities such as the Global Poverty Project, whose mission is a world without extreme poverty by the year 2030.

When you book directly with the hotel, a portion of your room rate will be donated to charities like the Global Poverty Project.

The hotel also works closely with a local organization called Groundswell. This fine organization is made up of community artists, activists and educators who work with groups of underserved and economically disadvantaged youth to create compelling works of art throughout our city's neighborhoods. Their projects help to beautify these urban communities while also putting young people to work.

In fact, a team of artists from Groundswell recently completed an impressive 150 foot by 50 foot mural on the hotel's south-facing wall that celebrates the history and culture of lower Manhattan.

One of the very unique amenities that 11 Howard offers guests is access to Higher Dose, an infrared spa.

New on the wellness and spa scene, Higher Dose is all about releasing the feel-good chemicals in your brain while you are sweating up a storm in their infrared sauna. The DOSE in the company's name stands for dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins.

Besides making you feel pretty euphoric, infrared saunas can help to detox heavy metals from your body, promote healthy sleep cycles and a healthy glow for your skin as well as reduce muscle tension and assist your body in burning calories.

This is one fantastic way to cure jet-lag.

Higher Dose is located on the third floor of the hotel. Guests receive 30% off all sessions. You can take the Higher Dose experience home with you if you like. They offer compact infrared sauna wraps that are perfect for any traveler.

Room service is always a nice option to have around when your day is running non-stop and there's not enough time to have a leisurely sit-down meal in the restaurant.

When you want to snack between meals though, and you're on the go, most hotels only offer vending machines or minibars that are stocked with less than healthy candy and chips or rock hard, often stale granola bars.

There's got to be a better alternative, you say! Well, there is at 11 Howard.

The hotel has partnered with Thrive Market for a personally curated room minibar alternative.

Social spaces at 11 Howard are not only aesthetically enchanting they are multifunctional and an ideal place to host the relatives you are visiting or entertain clients at an informal business meeting.

Located on the second floor, these rooms and hospitality areas are true extensions of the guest rooms.

The Library is a quaint blend of a Victorian-era drawing room and a contemporary lounge. You'll feel quite special within these refined walls as you sip a cup of tea or enjoy a cocktail. In a most civilized gesture, the management invites guests to join them for complimentary wine from 6 until 7 PM every Saturday evening.

Interesting and eclectic would be appropriate words to describe the decor. Wide-plank floors and plush rugs host sofas, chairs and tables that have been collected from around the world. The plaster walls are decorated by images from renowned Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto.

Only a few steps away from The library is The Blond, 11 Howard's decidedly upscale and stylish bar.

Bar snacks include crispy coconut battered shrimp, deviled eggs with salmon roe and Snapper ceviche.

The Library's food menu is rather more extensive and features a $25 continental breakfast.

Their all-day menu has more than enough variety to satisfy any appetite. highlights range from eggplant and caviar on grilled country bread to the 11H Burger, which is topped with grated Comte', Bibb lettuce, red onions, tomatoes and cornichon mayonnaise.

Non-alcoholic alternatives include a tasty and thirst quenching choice of Elderflower or Rose' lemonade.

As good as the food is at The Library and at Blond, the real culinary action takes place in the kitchen at Le Coucou.

In NYC, authenticity means everything. It doesn't matter whether your particular gig is music, cooking or fashion. You've got to keep things real. Born and bred New Yorkers can spot a phony a mile away.

That's why Le Coucou has garnered such a loyal and somewhat fanatical following. Many tourists and business travelers make sure to visit this fine French restaurant, when they are in the city, even if they are not staying at 11 Howard.

Although born and raised in Chicago, Co-owner and executive chef Daniel Rose has spent much of his adult life in France, where he learned from the masters of Gallic cuisine.

The proprietor of several critically acclaimed restaurants in Paris, such as Spring and La Bourse et La Vie, Le Coucou is Daniel's first venture in the United States.

The setting is at once charming and lively. There's a genuine vibrancy in the air that you can feel.

Chef Daniel's menu will take you back to your holidays in the French countryside. The food is simple but never boring with Daniel Rose's innovative vision bringing an exclamation point to each dish.

Chef's Boudin Les Aidudes, ( blood sausage) is accented by juicy slices of apple and Piment d' Espelette.

Another regional delicacy that you will adore is the hearty lobster and scallop stuffed cabbage.

They love them in France, but sweetbreads are definitely not for everyone. But you might just change your mind after sampling chef Daniel's version, which features creme de tomate and tarragon.

One of the most popular dishes on the menu is the chicken and foie gras that is accompanied by roasted fruit.

Monkfish and buttery, flaky halibut are also on offer at Le Coucou. Succulent cuts of monkfish are enveloped in a smooth mussel broth along with turnips and chunks of lobster. This is as good as it gets.

Don't sleep on dessert here. That won't be a problem as chef Daniel's delicious food is never heavy or sleep-inducing.

If you would like to try something a little bit different, the Saveurs du Printemps may become your new favorite dessert. Poached rhubarb is topped with fresh cream and pistachio.

The signature sweet ending here is the Gateau au Chocolat Coucou. A divine chocolate mousse is accompanied by white coffee ice cream that is, of course, made in-house.

It's no surprise that Daniel Rose chose the 11 Howard Hotel to make his U.S. culinary debut. Full of character and not afraid to push the envelope in the hospitality industry, this boutique hotel is the perfect setting for chefs who take pride in their craft.

In the ultra-competitive New York hotel market, it's no wonder that 11 Howard has carved out a niche' that is all its' own.

The Beekman Hotel - Financial District

This posh hotel is located in an iconic building that dates all the way back to 1883. Temple Court was a marvel of its' time, being one of the first skyscrapers to be constructed in New York. It was, in fact, completed the same year as the Brooklyn Bridge.

During the early and mid-nineteenth century, the site was formerly occupied by Clinton Hall and the Mercantile Library Association, whose illustrious members included Mark Twain, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau.

Edgar Allen Poe published his newspaper, The Broadway Journal from offices in this building.

In 1998 the building's ornate facade was officially declared a New York City landmark. Over the centuries, this imposing edifice has had many lives and undergone a multitude of transformations.

After a lengthy renovation by the Thompson Hotel chain, that added modern amenities yet preserved the original character of the building, The Beekman was born.

Exuding elegance and a distinctive charm, The Beekman Hotel is an architectural masterpiece re-imagined. will catch and dazzle your eye are from the creative genius of award-winning designer Martin Brudnizki.

It all starts with the fabulous lobby and ornate reception desk which harkens back to the golden age of travel.

Vintage Persian rugs are your "red carpet" that leads you from the front door to check-in. Situated inside of an alcove, the reception desk is adorned with antique glass lamps that sit atop polished timber.

Atriums are becoming increasingly popular as an architectural showpiece in the city's hotels, particularly in lower Manhattan's older structures.

If you happen to do a walking tour of these lobby atriums, you probably won't find a bad one in the bunch. However, the Beekman's atrium has to be the most impressive of all.

Capped by a pyramid-shaped skylight, the entire lobby is illuminated by natural sunlight.

The upper levels are decorated with Victorian wrought iron railings and spectacular balustrades, decorated with flowers, dragons and sunburst.

All too often, in older buildings, hotel rooms can be caught in a time-warp as far as the decor and vibe is concerned. The ambiance can be a bit too old-fashioned for some.

That's not the case at the Beekman. They have managed to retain a little of that charming Victorian-era feel while also presenting guests with every modern convenience that you've come to expect. The cozy, contemporary atmosphere and amenities are a win-win for everyone.

In addition to curated artwork, every room boasts lavish velvet and leather furnishings, warm oak floors, a craft cocktail table and a Carrara marble-tiled bathroom with a sleek, state of the art over-sized rain shower and exclusive bath amenities from D.S.and Durga.

You can also expect complimentary turndown service every evening as well as the use of a courtesy luxury Lexus car, which is available upon request. Even when you're on the road, you won't miss a workout thanks to The Beekman's dual level fitness center, which is equipped with Peloton studio spin bikes.

Of course, despite all of the trendy amenities and surroundings, if you want to go old-school, by all means, do so! The best space to book, in that event, would be the Beekman's Turret Penthouses.

Located within the iconic and imposing rooftop turrets, these signature, luxurious penthouses have private entrances and outdoor terraces with views of City Hall Park, The Brooklyn Bridge and One World Trade Center.

With just over 1,200 square feet, these multi-floored spaces contain a large living room and bedroom. It's more like staying in an apartment rather than a hotel suite.

When spending time at The Beekman, you won't run out of dining or nightlife options any time soon.

The Beekman has brought together two culinary superstars under one roof, chef Keith McNally and the legendary Tom Colicchio. And, if that wasn't enough, New York nightlife entrepreneur and party promoter Serge Becker has opened a club and lounge on the premises.

AUGUSTINE is Keith McNally's first hotel restaurant.

A Brasserie-style restaurant, Augustine caters to an eclectic mix of travelers, from the jet-setting socialite crowd and corporate CEO's to a family with kids who enjoy exploring refined dining options. And, it's a very nice place to have an intimate dinner for two.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Augustine has more of varied men than most French restaurants usually offer.

Yes, you can certainly order an excellent Bouillabaisse, Steak fries or Duck L'Orange here.

But, by all means, do take advantage of Chef McNally's ingenuity and ingredients-forward philosophy and enjoy dishes like crab spaghettini with pickled jalapenos and beurre blanc or seared Sullivan County Trout, dressed with green onions, wild mushrooms and dandelion greens.

The menu has a very tasty Rotisserie section that's well worth looking into. Highlights include a tender leg of lamb and crispy-skinned farm-raised chicken.

Side dishes here are stars in their own right. Traditional Pommes Frites never go out of fashion especially when they are accompanied by house-made mayonnaise.

Citrus-glazed carrots are cooked in tarragon oil, which gives them a tangy flavor. The kitchen elevates the rather tired steakhouse classic creamed spinach into an entirely different type of dish. Herbed bread crumbs that are made from scratch and cave-aged Gruyere cheese will do it every time.

Augustine's drink list is divided into several helpful sections ranging from Specialty Cocktails and martinis to Long drinks and Sparkling Offerings.

A cocktail that works any time of the day is the Mixberry Rye, with High West Double Rye, Cremes De Fraises and Cranberry juice.

The refreshing Morrison Hotel, with a blend of Siete Leguas Reposado, Falernum and pineapple juice will take you to some very enjoyable places you've never been before.

The ALLEY CAT is a collaboration between chef Tom Colicchio and impresario Serge Becker.

To gain entry, one has to walk down an alleyway behind the Beekman Hotel, knock on a rather decrepit looking door and, once the doorman lets you in, descend down two separate flights of stairs.

The journey, though, is well worth your trouble. This is one sexy, off the wall lounge and nightclub.

Located inside of a once-forgotten cellar area and boiler room, The Alley Cat is done up like the backstage of a Broadway theater. The vibe and decor are very interesting, to say the least.

The bar menu and cocktail list have been inspired by Tokyo's secret bars and the traditional New York speakeasy.

You can get a glass of Japanese craft beer, imported whiskey and Sake. Their small plates consist of modern interpretations of Japanese comfort food.

Soy braised short ribs are paired up with addicting spicy Ginkgo nuts while fried Quail is accompanied by a delightful pear chutney and mustard greens.

Aside from Wasabi arugula and sea urchin completes your Hamachi dish. Possibly the most popular dish here is the Miso broiled shrimp with curry butter and Pac Choi.

All signature cocktails come in at $16, which is fairly standard for this neck of the woods.

Lemongrass honey adds a nifty touch to the Green Toki Highball, whose other ingredients are premium Suntory Toki whiskey and Sencha tea.

Get a little adventurous with the Spaghetti Eastern, a drink that has it all; Miso-infused Boodles gin, Dolin Genepy, coconut juice and Shishito.

The bar keeps here make a delicious Lemon Sour, which blends Tin Cup bourbon and manzanilla sherry with lemon juice. The garnish is a black lemon shrub.

Kimono-clad servers add to the authentic atmosphere and DJs spin some very cool beats every night. From time to time, The Alley Cat also hosts a variety of live performances.

TEMPLE COURT, the latest venture from chef Tom Colicchio, draws its' inspiration from the rich history of Beekman Street and the surrounding neighborhood.

Set with jewel-toned furnishings and a melange' of antique accents, this is a restaurant that is truly one of a kind. The ambiance speaks to foodies from all walks of life; hipster couples, high-powered business executives and families. Even Mark Twain, who actually worked for a newspaper in this very building centuries ago, would feel comfortable dining here.

Tom Colicchio and his executive chef Carlos Benedicto have put together a diverse menu that focuses on farm to table ingredients as well as outstanding meat and fish dishes.

The signature dish here is Chef Tom's Lobster Thermidor. His spin on this classic repast pairs succulent lobster with Tarragon, fava beans and Chanterelle mushrooms.

Tender diver scallops are served with a harvest of Jerusalem artichokes, ramps, savoy cabbage and a black truffle vinaigrette.

They also do a wonderful chicken fricasse', which is a dish that you don't see on many menus, anymore.

When dining at Temple Court, you might want to take advantage of the chef's superb tasting menu. $99 might sound a bit expensive but the food and memories you'll have are so very worth it.

A recent tasting menu consisted of the following delights; Tuna Nicoise, Sablefish Mousseline, Butter Poached Prawns with pea ravioli and heirloom carrots, Snake River Farms Wagyu Beef with asparagus and, for dessert, an olive oil parfait topped with fresh strawberries and basil.

aplez best vallue hotels in manhattan new york temple court

Tom Colicchio has opened yet another inviting space within the confines of The Beekman Hotel; The BAR ROOM.

Located beneath the hotel's stunning atrium lobby, The Bar Room has become a favorite of local residents who want to do happy hour in refined yet convivial surroundings.

As the introduction on the cover of their menu says... "Within these pages, you'll find dishes to satisfy your appetite, libations that will quench your thirst and all things to make you cheerful".

Tom Colicchio does a fabulous job creating bar bites that are accessible yet trend-setting.

Where else can you stop in for drinks after work and enjoy food like a sausage stuffed sage leaves or caramelized onion dip with Gaufrette potatoes?

On a cold Winter's night, the ultimate comfort food may very well be The Bar Room's soothing bowl of chicken consomme' with Thyme and Ditalini pasta.

Their drink list is appropriately named The Bar Room Bookcase. Drinks are named after famous authors like Graham Greene and Oscar Wilde.

Channel your inner James Bond when you sip the Ian Fleming, a cocktail that consists of Vodka, Hendrick's Gin, Bergamot and carrot juice.

An unusual blend of bourbon, Cappelletti Aperitivo, Green Chartreuse, strawberry and lemon juice make the Jane Austen a drink that you will want to order every time you come here.

Step back in time and enjoy a taste from years gone by with The Bar Room's curated selection of vintage spirits. Available, in a 2 ounce, neat shot, is 1940's era Gariboldi Natale's Fernet of Nasate.
