The house even has a late night happy hour (for all you night owls and those who work night shifts). From midnight to 4 AM, Oliver's offers special deals including select $5 shots. Going to Oliver's straight from work? The happy hour goes up to 8 PM! Pinot Grigio or a glass of Malbec goes for only &5 a glass. Sweet Afton - Astoria

When you enter the Sweet Afton, you'll swear you left Astoria and somehow ended up in an Irish Pub, thousands of miles away. The ambience at Sweet Afton is super friendly. The decor is cozy with a touch old-fashioned charm. The crowd is hip, quite cool, full of energy and the cocktail menu is cutting edge. Just try the bar's sweet tea (a blend of Earl Grey infused Vodka, lemon and honey-ginger syrup). Beats the Long Island Tea anytime.

Sweet Afton's mixologists enjoy showing off their skills. And why not? They've redefined what being creative truly means. Their Sweet Afton Punch is not for kids. It's a mix of light and dark rum, seasonal fruit juices and an array of spices. If you can't decide between soda and alcohol, then the Rye Roor Beer glass has your name on it. It's a smoother than you'd think, yummy blend of Rye Whiskey, home made root beer and a touch of vanilla. Happy Hour at the Afton starts from 4 PM till 7 PM, Monday-Friday. Wine goes for $6 a glass, well drinks are $5 and just four singles will get you a Draft beer. Expect the unexpected when you do Happy Hour at DiWine, Astoria's premier wine bar and restaurant. At DiWine their motto is "something different everyday."  They certainly live up to their promise. Offering a menu of domestic and international wines, infused cocktails, all complemented by locally sourced, artisan food, the drink and appetizer/entree specials change constantly throughout the week. The restaurant itself is stylish in its decor and very hip. A few steps lead up to a nook-like private space, for romantic dates or small dinner parties. Comfy sofas and couches abound, with small tables in front. The long bar is charming in its Victorian elegance. There is ample room for your glass and appetizer. You won't feel crowded as you socialize with those around you.

But most important of all, the liquid in the glass at DiWine will positively delight you. The attentive bar keeps actually care about your order and, if you're not sure just what to imbibe, DiWine's mixologists will make helpful suggestions. It depends on your taste in liquor and what kind of food you're having. They'll point you in the right direction. The bartenders here call the Pimms Cup, England in a glass. And so it is, a luscious blend of mint, cool cucumber, ginger ale and, of course, Pimms. The house is justifiably proud of their Basil Gimlet: a fresh and tasty blend of basil infused gin, lime juice and syrup. Your soon to be favorite Happy Hour cocktail is DiWine's Berry Martini, (strawberry infused vodka, fresh berry puree, prosecco and creme de cassis).

Tru - Astoria,NY

Happy Hour at Tru is the best time of the day for local Astoria residents. From great food and drinks, a professional, welcoming staff to a friendly crowd of regulars, you will not want for anything. After all,  good company  is the key to having fun when you go out.
Just a short walk from the Ditmars Blvd. Train station, Tru is the perfect excuse to delay going home , with  the stylish décor,  comfy  lounge chairs and refreshing drinks.  It's the place to be ,  especially  during happy hour. Whether you are famished and craving a delicious meal or are just in the mood for something light, Tru's extensive menu is available from Happy Hour through the night.

Hint, hint, go for  the tasty rice pilaf or oven roasted potatoes.
Tru's fantastic drinks, cocktail and beverage selection will exceed your expectations.

Tru has curated a list of delectable reds, whites, blush and sparkling wines, both imported and domestic. Whiskeys and single malts are also available including Johnie Walker Gold and Maker's Mark bourbon. Happy Hour beers are very reasonably priced at only $5 a glass and the bar even carries Estrella Damn, which is a gluten-free lager. Their signature cocktail list will take you back to the glamorous days of the Jazz Age and prohibition. Happy Hour was, indeed, never like this. Taste one of their prohibition-era inspired cocktails and your evening will take on an extra-special fizz. Tru's bar has seven great selections to choose from including the Classic Tru, which blends fresh cucumber, basil and pear juice with vodka.  Another can't miss is the Blueberry High Life, which consists of  muddled blueberries, lime, sugar, vodka and cranberry juice.

Frozen drinks are one of the many reasons why the Happy Hour here is a cut above the rest. A bargain at just ten bucks, these fruity, slushy arctic wonders  include daiquiris, margaritas, pina coladas , mudslides and their signature peach sunrise. Don't forget to check out their bottomless brunch weekends. Available from 9 AM to 4 PM, this deal gives you two full hours of unlimited brunch cocktails for $15.
