When we stopped in, we spoke briefly with Bruno, one of the knowledgeable sales staff. He was happy to answer our questions.  Wine Stop has a very easy-going vibe. There's no pressure from the sales staff. And some really cool jazz music was playing unobtrusively in the background, when we visited.

Walking around the store, we were surrounded by tall, dark wood shelves stocked with an amazing variety of wines. They carry wines from Italy, France, South America as well as from domestic vineyards. Wine Stop does not neglect Astoria's discerning whisky and bourbon drinkers, either. They carry a great selection of spirits. There is also a large refrigerator case toward the back of the store, should you prefer your wine chilled. By the way, the contemporary chandelier lighting fixture illuminating the store is very eye-catching.  Wine Stop is open until midnight and they do free local delivery. If you were ready to open your own bar or pub, you could come in to Grand, grab a shopping cart and stock up! That's how complete their selection is. Grand Wine & Liquor is a clean, large, no-frills store that displays their products in a clear manner. Sales staff are at the ready to assist shoppers and direct them to their favorite wine or bottle of spirits.

Grand even carries the hard-to-find Ole Smoky line of spirits, in their unique jar packaging. That includes Ole Smoky's marinated juicy, red maraschino cherries. Yum! Sauntering around the store, we looked over the various shelves and display cases, just drinking in the sights.
