Twist and Smash'd Sports - Astoria | LIC

When Twist and Smash'd Sports opened in Astoria - LIC earlier this year, it totally revitalized the energy at the corner of 34th Ave. and Steinway Street.

These folks have put the fun back in the overplayed sports bar concept. They even feature a regulation-size Bocce court, located along the wall near the entrance. Bocce is a traditional Italian game of skill and almost anyone can play and become competitive. A huge rectangular bar occupies the center of the room with plenty of seats and a very friendly atmosphere. There are dozens of widescreen TVs situated throughout the place so you'll never miss one second of the action.

Besides the usual tables, you can enjoy comfy sofas and couch-type seating in the back. Twist and Smash'd is making their reputation not only on the fantastic bar scene and ambience, but also on the food being served. Their signature potato is a new and fun way to eat spuds. A twisted potato served on a stick is cut up in spiral-shaped slices and enjoyed one bite at a time. It tastes great in all flavors.

The Italian Smash'd is an Angus beef burger with pesto, topped with grilled portobello mushroom and mozzarella cheese. Their crab meat burger and salmon Smash'd are just as original and delicious. The fusion wings, cooked slowly in a soy-honey citrus marinade, are worth every bite. Other favorites include all their salads and chicken tenders wrapped in the waffle, dusted with powdered sugar and maple syrup. Twist and Smash'd is a place where you can celebrate your team along with your kids and the entire family. There are special kids menus available and free refills on drinks.
