Gift Shops in LIC. The Best in Style and Home. Long Island City residents, Jillian Tangent and Rebekah Witzke, are the very fashionable and entreprenuerial force behind one of Queens premier shopping destinations, LIC Living, where every product tells a story.

Jillian and Rebekah have put a lot of love and care into their store. LIC Living is an upscale, boutique shopping experience. But it's not at all intimidating. The owners are extremely community minded and encourage their neighbors to come in, browse and get a feel for the store. LIC Living has its own distinct, whimsical personality. Special events and parties are frequently hosted at this magical shop and recently the owners held an event to raise money for PS 78 and the PTA of the school. Great snacks, sips and shopping highlighted the evening.

This is indicative of the personal style and commitment to the neighborhood that Jillian and Rebekah bring to the table. We recently stopped by LIC Living to get a firsthand look at the store that is redefining how Long Island City shops.

Tanika Goudeau showed us around the small but very well-appointed store. The ambience is almost as though you were shopping in a neighbor's loft. The truly eclectic mix of items are designed to enhance your lifestyle and make it more fashionable. Whether you are purchasing accessories, apparel, home decor items, paper goods or kitchen and dining products, LIC Living allows you to make a very personal statement that your friends will admire.

LIC Living has products for every taste and style and at affordable price points. On display were exceptionally well made flute glasses, desert coupes, salt-and-pepper shakers.  The store carries a scintilating line of quality, decorative Scandinavian candles... Koben Havn and Skog, "the calm of the Boreal forest".

Candles by Tocca will capture your imagination with a rainbow of enthralling scents... vanilla, sandalwood, gardenia, spiced rum and sugar cane. On tables throughout the store, Loreu Hope earrings were on display as well as MZ Wallace bags and accessories.

LIC Living also sells handmade soap from Boon Soap Company, which is based in Long Island City. Some of their fashion is imported from Denmark and there is also a rack displaying high-quality James Jeans that will catch your eye. The children's collection at the rear of the store, contained some really cute items as well. On a wall near the entrance is a collection of designer greeting cards, which were rather unique. Up on the opposite wall we noticed a display of photos, magazine clipping and phrases that Tanika explained was the owners wall of inspiration. Here, Rebekah and Jillian paste up different items that inspire them or simply make them happy.

One of the phrases on display "Decorate, Innovative, Renovate," was very appropriate. LIC Living is all about comfort, fashion, home goods and the perfect place to purchase a gift for someone who is hard to please. All products sold are personally curated by the store's owners. If it's personal to you, it's personal to LIC Living.
