That's what Yvonne and I did when we booked an overnight stay at the brand-new Nesva Hotel, located at 39-12 29th Street in LIC. We knew that our weekend would be special when we were greeted in a very friendly manner by the clerk at the front desk. Upon entering our room, we were pleased by the natural earth tones of the furniture, the shades of orange and brown on the pillows and bed coverings, as well as the overall cleanliness.

　
It was too cold outside to take advantage of our private balcony, but in the summer that would be a definite plus. We were really impressed with the bathroom, which had an ultra-deep soaking tub, a hair dryer and eco-friendly bath amentities such as body wash and shampoo.

　
That evening, upon the desk clerk's reccomendation, we walked down the block and visited Dutch Kills Centraal in Long Island City for dinner. It's an attractive place to have a drink or a meal at one of their wooden tables. The decor is cozy and the parquet floors are beautiful. The chicken breast, accompanied by kale and buttermilk mashed potatoes, was outstanding. The romantic ambiance, warm, friendly service and unique character of Dutch Kills Centraal in LIC will win you over. Heading back to the Nesva we took advantage of the room's flat-screen HDTV and just kicked back and forgot the cares of the workweek.

　
The Nesva Hotel in LIC offers a 24-hour front desk, concierge service, a business center for meetings, free WiFi and a complimentary continental breakfast. The Nesva breakfast was the best wake-up call ever. It was delicious and bountiful, consisting of bagels, assorted muffins, mini pastries and fruit. The Nesva's coffee was so good we had to have a second cup. The Nesva Hotel-New York City Vista in Long Island City should be at the top of your list when considering hotel accommodations.

The owners, Chef Laura and Larry Vecchio, really do make guests feel as though they are part of the family. A light breakfast suggestion would be their espresso and biscotti cookies. For lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong with Mia Famiglia's chicken marsala, shrimp scampi with pasta or orecchiette, and brocccoli rabe. Chef Laura and her kitchen crew mix up their menu selections with Italian comfort food as well as lighter, health-conscious items like salads and soups.
