Sunswick Bar and Restaurant in Astoria, located at 35th Avenue and 35th Street (easy address to remember), is a vital part of an up-and-coming neighborhood. The name Sunswick has a great deal of history behind it, going all the way back to the Native American tribes who called Astoria home, years before the Dutch settlers arrived on our shores. Sunswick is derived from the Native American word Sunsidsq.

Loosely translated, it means place of the chief's wife. The area around Sunswick Creek, which ran from the East River into what is now Astoria, was a popular gathering spot for the local tribes. In 2014, the good folks at Sunswick are continuing that rich social tradition. With 25 beers on tap, an innovative kitchen and an eye for fun and games, Sunswick is your go-to pub for a night out. They host weekly trivia nights, karaoke, game nights and monthly beer festivals.
