Natasha Marcano Art

Bringing the sunshine and colors of the Caribbean to your home.

There's just something about Natasha Marcano Dillon's art that brings a smile to one's face. The color blends are bright, lively and vibrant, reminiscent of the environment where Natasha grew up on the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago.
After all, the Caribbean is a beautiful place, almost a paradise on earth, with clear, blue water, lush greenery and different kinds of exotic fish and birds. Not to mention the warmth of the people.

Her portrait art easily captures the humanity and personality of the subject involved. Natasha's portraits are true-to-life with swirls of, you guessed it, color, color and
MORE color!
Quiet Confidence and Crown of Glory are two works that depict the pride of black women today.
Moments captures the personality of the late, great basketball legend Kobe Bryant. And there is also available for purchase some very intriguing Bob Marley artwork, as well.

Aplez.com is pleased to feature Natasha Marcano's Art in our Spotlight Series. We absolutely love introducing exciting, new artists to our readers and we know that you'll enjoy discovering this talented newcomer's work.

Although Natasha has been drawing and painting, in one form or another, since childhood, it was only in July of 2022 that she founded her brand.

"I have been consistently drawing portraits in charcoal since the beginning of 2019 and I started doing pastel portraits in 2021," explained Natasha. " I found that I really enjoyed creating different splashes of color in the portraits. my friends loved the artwork and so, I decided to make the leap and put my work out there in the world."

Art was always one of Natasha's favorite subjects throughout her school years. It was while she was in middle school that Natasha knew that art would play an important role in her life. But, she saw art more as a hobby, an escape, not a profession.

"The whole creative process of sketching, drawing and painting relaxed me," stated Natasha.

Even today, Natasha uses her Island upbringing as inspiration for her work.

"Color is one of the main aspects of the Carnival tradition in Trinidad and Tobago. It's an amazing event and I always looked forward to seeing the designs and colors used by the various bands and the story that was being visually told."

Natasha came to the Big Apple to complete her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Design. She fell in love with the diversity and hustle and bustle of the city, residing in Brooklyn together with her husband and two sons.

When Natasha is not creating magic on canvas with her brush, she teaches at one of the city's schools. Working with our young people is definitely a way of "paying it forward", so to speak. Natasha was mentored by several teachers in her youth. She believes that teachers can make a HUGE difference in the lives of their students.

" I originally worked as an adjunct at the New York City College of Technology. Then I got the opportunity to work as a full-time teacher upon getting certified. I enjoy seeing my student's
finished work after their assignments and the design process has been completed. "

Aside from her prints and other works, Natasha Marcano is currently offering something that you can't get from most other artists... wearable art!
Natasha's Wearable brand consists of t-shirts and totes that are adorned with her
original art. For all you fashionistas out there, be on the lookout for additional apparel such as hoodies.
You'll be proud to rock these items. The quality of the material is great and the price is right, as the classic TV game show used to say!

Our artist in the spotlight is also accepting commissions. As you already know, Natasha loves doing portraits and she is extremely good at it. The whole process is easy peasy.
Natasha wants to work within your budget and she knows that you have a busy schedule....as does she. Between her family, teaching job and art, we don't know how this person finds time to sleep!

Anyway, back to commissioning a portrait of yourself or a loved one. The great news is that you do not have to sit in person while the artist does her thing. Natasha suggests that, after you have a phone consultation with her, you email 3 to 5 photos of the subject and she will help you pick out the right one.
Then, she'll get to work. The image of your custom portrait will be emailed for you to review and approve before it is shipped. A great communicator, Natasha will go over all of the details so that you'll be super happy with the final product.

On the horizon, as well, are art classes for groups and individuals. Stay tuned to Natasha's website, Instagram and Facebook for updates.
